“We already had a hard time with one game; how are we going to have three All-Star Games? We had a hard enough time trying to get everyone to compete at a high level playing in one game,” George said. “So I just don’t understand how; I guess it’s a shorter number to play to, so I guess that’s the competitive part about it. It’s competing to get to, I think it’s 40 or something like that. “But yeah, I just don’t like the format; if we’re not going to go out and compete and be competitive, then I think it’s still just wasting time,” George concluded.

Sixers didn’t even play Paul George in the final 16:19 of 1H. Everyone on the floor had it rolling, so why not save him and those fouls?
Unless George picks up an early foul in the third quarter, he is in line for a lot of 2H minutes — Embiid played 19 minutes in the 1H. – 11:22 PM

It’s the SEVENTH time this season that Clippers had 3 20-point scorers in a game. The 6th time the trio was Norm/H/Zu

With Paul George in foul trouble, the Sixers will play the final 63 seconds of the third quarter without any of their stars. Jackson, Oubre Jr., Council IV, C. Martin and Yabusele are the five. – 10:41 PM

Paul George is called for a moving screen, and it’s his second personal in under four minutes of action. George was in foul trouble for much of the second half in Utah on Saturday. – 10:23 PM

I spent hours on Paul George’s @bball_ref page in search of answers: why are his scoring volume & efficiency nearing career-lows in his first year with the Sixers?
Here’s what I found & how I think George can alter his approach to score more efficiently:

They made it as painful as possible, but the Sixers have their first three game winning streak of the season. 32 apiece for Embiid and Maxey, and some huge defense from Paul George.

People were really on here comparing Paul George to Tobias Harris earlier today (and Tobias is a great dude! Just not even in the same stratosphere of player as George). – 10:32 PM

Paul George’s defense has been spectacular so far this season, four first-half steals tonight and a bunch of other positive plays that won’t show up in the box score – 10:31 PM

I was joined by @LegsESPN to talk about his main takeaways from the Sixers’ win in Boston, the defensive performance (and upside) of the Sixers’ switchable wing lineup, Tyrese Maxey’s growth and how to get Paul George rolling.

Derek Bodner: Final: Sixers win 111-106. It is their 7th win in the last 10 games, and just their 2nd win this season against a team that currently has a +.500 record. Tyrese Maxey led the way with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Paul George added 19/9/4. The Sixers won both the rebounding (9 off boards to 3) and turnover (9, to 18 for Spurs) battles decisively. -via x.com / December 23, 2024
