The Sixers’ new star Paul George is feeling positive about having a quick return after suffering a bone bruise.
What would the arrival of a new Sixer be without an injury scare? An MRI earlier this week revealed that Paul George suffered a bone bruise when he hyperextended his knee in the Sixers’ preseason game against the Hawks on Monday, fortunately avoiding any torn ligaments or serious injury.
He’ll be reevaluated next week, and thankfully shouldn’t be sidelined for long.
The latest update is from the man himself, as George shared how he’s doing on his podcast.

“I guess my leg just kind of got stuck,” George said when recalling the play. “My knee locked up, my leg locked up, and when I went to go push off, like all my momentum is going forward and my leg, it just caused it to go inwards.”
“I’ll be back strong and better than ever. It wasn’t nothing major or no concern. … I should be back hopefully sooner than later, but it won’t be a long timetable,” he added.
Once George has been officially reevaluated by the team next week, we should know exactly when he’ll be back. If that evaluation comes exactly one week from his injury diagnosis, that would be Tuesday — the day before the Sixers’ season opener against the Bucks on Oct. 23.
Whenever George’s return happens, at least it sounds like it won’t be far away even if he isn’t active against the Bucks.
