The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers will square off Thursday night in a pivotal Game 6. Moments ago, the officiating crew was revealed.
Scott Foster will be the lead official for Game 6. That could spell trouble for the Knicks.
Foster has been nicknamed “The Extender” because teams trailing in playoffs series usually win games that are officiated by him.
While this doesn’t necessarily mean the 76ers will defeat the Knicks this evening, NBA fans are convinced there’ll be a Game 7.
“Adam Silver is salivating at the thought of a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden,” one fan said.
“Classic Scott Foster legacy game,” another person wrote on X. “He’ll either force a game 7 or revel in not giving Philly calls at home. Dude goes hard in the paint, it’ll be one or the other.”
“Scott Foster making sure this goes to 7,” a third social media user added.
In Game 5, the 76ers trailed by six points with less than 30 seconds remaining. Tyrese Maxey put the team on his back and forced overtime. He finished Tuesday’s contest with 46 points.
The 76ers would love a similar performance from Maxey in Game 6.
Tipoff for Game 6 is at 9 p.m. ET.
