Joel Embiid has been ruled out Saturday in Detroit for both left knee management and personal reasons while Paul George was a full participant at practice Friday.
CAMDEN, N.J. — While the official injury report isn’t due for a few more hours, the Sixers provided updates on the status of their injured All-Stars after practice on Friday. Minimal updates were given about Joel Embiid, who was ruled for Saturday’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to left knee injury management and personal reasons.
Per Sixers, Joel Embiid (left knee injury management/personal reasons) is out for tomorrow’s game at Detroit.
Paul George (left knee bone bruise) fully participated in practice. Caleb Martin (upper back soreness) partially participated in practice.
Kyle Lowry remains out.

Nick Nurse did say that the swelling has gone down, but there is still some soreness in the knee.
Embiid was not a participant at practice Friday, but both Paul George and Caleb Martin participated. Nurse said that George looked “pretty good out there” in a full out practice in terms of contact and scrimmaging.
Martin, who was listed as day-to-day, will possibly only miss a game and a half despite playing through what has been described as “considerable pain.” Martin took a hard fall last Friday against the Brooklyn Nets and tried to play through it before the team decided it was best to get him off the floor halfway through Sunday’s loss to the Clippers. While he was on a partial participant in practice today, he told reporters after practice he feels good and plans on playing Saturday.
So it seems like both Martin and George will be listed as questionable for Saturday when the official injury report drops.
Finally, Kyle Lowry remains out for Saturday’s contest in Detroit. Lowry has missed the last four games with a right hip strain. In that time he’s unofficially added himself to the coaching staff.
