The Sixers play the worst team in the NBA Wednesday but they’ll do so without two of their stars as Joel Embiid and Paul George have both been ruled out.
They should still be able to take care of business, but that’s not great.
The Sixers’ latest injury report lists both Joel Embiid and Paul George as out for Wednesday’s contest against the Washington Wizards. Embiid is still dealing with a left foot sprain, and George is listed out with left groin tightness.

The Embiid news is a bit less surprising. He was among the names reported as not practicing on Tuesday while George was not. Kyle Lowry and KJ Martin remain out along with Jared McCain. They could be getting Andre Drummond back though after being a late scratch against the Suns. He is questionable and has been dealing with a toe contusion for a couple weeks now.
Even without Embiid and PG, they should be able to beat a Wizards team that is 6-27, currently the worst record in the league though. This Sixers team has shown they are capable of losing to anyone, though.
Sixers who did not participate in today’s practice, per Nick Nurse: Joel Embiid, Andre Drummond, KJ Martin, Kyle Lowry (and, of course, Jared McCain)

The hits have not stopped rolling in from that Suns game either. The NBA announced that Kelly Oubre Jr. was given a $2,000 fine for flopping. The league provided a link for the play in question but it doesn’t seem to work, good luck finding it!
