The Philadelphia 76ers were initially hopeful that Joel Embiid could return from his meniscus procedure in late March, but it now appears as though the final week of the regular season is a more realistic timeline.
“He’s not anywhere close right now to coming back, but he is able to get on the court and do some light work,” said Ramona Shelburne. “The hope that they have in Philly is they can stay in the mix for Joel Embiid to come back the last week or so of the season at least where he has a chance to get back to his conditioning before the playoffs.”
Embiid was the MVP favorite before his injury and will be critical to Philadelphia’s chances in the playoffs.
