Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is quickly becoming the biggest villain in New York.
On Thursday night, Embiid injured Knicks center Mitchell Robinson by yanking his legs while he was in the air. It was a dirty play that should’ve warranted an ejection.
Instead, the refs allowed Embiid to stay on the court. The All-Star was dominant in Game 3, leading the 76ers to a much-needed win.
After the game was over, the Empire State Building announced that Embiid has been banned from visiting the historic skyscraper.
“Joel Embiid has been banned from the Empire State Building,” the official X account for the Empire State Building wrote.
Embiid hasn’t taken any accountability for his foul on Robinson. He claims he didn’t mean to hurt him, but the footage says otherwise.
As for the Knicks, they’re understandably upset about Embiid’s foul on Robinson.
“It was dirty,” Knicks guard Donte DiVincenzo told reporters. “It was dirty.”
Knicks forward Josh Hart also offered his thoughts on Embiid’s foul. He said, “I’m all for tough fouls, tough playoff fouls, but that’s something that can put a guy out for a significant amount of time.”
The Knicks and 76ers will meet again on Sunday for a pivotal Game 4.
