When the NBA suspended Joel Embiid for three games for shoving a media member in the Philadelphia 76ers locker room, that suspension came with the caveat of starting when the former MVP was available to play. Embiid will reportedly serve the suspension over the Sixers next three games.
That means Embiid is now cleared to play. That puts the All-Star center in position to make his debut next week against the New York Knicks in an NBA Cup game. That game is currently scheduled to be broadcast on national TV on TNT.
After opening the season with both Embiid and Paul George recovering from injuries, Philadelphia is close to putting their ideal team on the floor. The 76ers hope a return to health will help them get the season on track, as they’ve started with a 1-5 record.
