James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers are working on finding a trade after he opted into his contract for 23-24 at $35.6 million. Given a tepid market for Harden and the way the Sixers have done business on the trade market in the past, a resolution may not be found at the start of free agency.
“He has very likely played his last game in Philadelphia,” said Adrian Wojnarowski. Although we saw Daryl Morey go the distance with Ben Simmons, went through the whole next season. I don’t think it will go that long. But I’m afraid that this one may go a while before they figure out where that trade destination might be and what’s the best package they can get back for him.”
Shams Charania of The Athletic has reported that the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat have interest in trading for Harden. The Heat are considered unlikely to make any major transactions while Damian Lillard remains in limbo with the Portland Trail Blazers.
