Streetball is A Philly Tradition.
So Is the Official 3 On 3 Tournament of the NBA.
Want to go Pro? You might actually be able to do it playing basketball.
No, I don’t mean being drafted into the NBA. This is a promise of ability that thrives on any warm day in the streets of Philadelphia.
On August 13th, at Competitive Edge Sports in King of Prussia, the 2024 76ers 3-on-3 Tournament Powered by Hoop-It-Up will be held for four-man teams ranging from ages 8 to 18.
Philadelphia is one of the top cities for outdoor basketball courts, with locations dating back to the Front Street Courts. Philly ranks 6th in outdoor basketball courts according to Courts of the World. If you have a little history to accompany your pickup game, Lemon Hill in the Fairmount Park area offers some of the best basketball in the City against the backdrop of the historic Lemon Hill Mansion, which is also beautifully lit against the river at night.
Since 1989, Hoop-It-Up (the official NBA tournament) has visited various American cities, including Philadelphia. This year, it returns to King of Prussia, hosted at Competitive Edge Sports on Saturday, August 13th, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sunday, August 14th.
Annually, Hoop-It-Up allows recreational basketball teams to play in a tournament that travels around the US. Rosters consist of up to 5 teammates on each squad. Each team receives at least 4 games during the course of the tournament. The fee to register is $150, and the tournament is managed (in part) by 3×360 basketball.
Hoop It Up Pro-Am League teams compete for a chance at the National Championship of Hoop-It-Up. Divisional winners will have the opportunity to try out with the Delaware Blue Coats. The winning team will also receive a stipend for travel to the Hoop It Up National Championship to compete in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, featuring over $1 million in annual prize money.
