Excellent news, inflation-concerned Philadelphia-area residents. You can now see the 76ers for $1.00. Why sit on a waiting list to see the World Champion Eagles or the potential National League contending Phillies when you can save a ton of cash by watching the Sixers?
What a deal? Forget that the Sixers are a struggling 23–44 — showing no hope of contending for a playoff spot. Forget that they were last considered a championship contender back when James Harden was on the roster.
And although you’ll no doubt have to pay more for that chili-cheese dog, popcorn, and gluten-free chicken sandwich in 2025, at least you’ll get to see All-Star Joel Embid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George, right? Unfortunately, no. George is deciding on options for surgery, Embiid has been shut down for the season. Maxey has hand and back issues that are keeping him sidelined at present.
But getting in on Sixers tickets now may provide an opportunity for discounted seating in the more geographically-friendly, easier to commute to center-city arena, right? Wrong, again. Plans for that arena are off — and the new home of the Sixers will remain in South Philadelphia.

Just weeks from a dominant championship performance from an Eagles team that has its home stadium across the parking lot — the sports’ franchise who cloned the phrase — the Process — must have a plan for improvement, correct? It’s hard to imagine that Daryl Morrey, Nick Nurse, and an investment group that also owns the Washington Commanders and the New Jersey Devils will have any choice but to completely rebuild for a roster that almost certainly won’t make the playoffs this season.
So a Sixers Game for $1.00? Absolutely. After all, it’s still NBA Basketball.
