But with the team back together now, the offense has become stagnant again, and the defense has lost its verve. The persistent struggle to incorporate George effectively on both ends has returned. Any system that runs through Embiid will have moments of static, yet the hope was that George would thrive attacking the open space created by the Maxey-Embiid pick-and-roll. “I’d be lying if I said I thought I came in here and I thought this would be an easy process. It’s been challenging. It’s definitely been challenging,” George told reporters in Philadelphia after Tuesday’s loss to the Raptors. “But I’m here to learn and figure it out. (Embiid’s) an unbelievable talent. He makes the game easy with just his presence, his attention that he draws. But it’s been a challenge.”
